Happy Feet

I spotted these booties during the Nordstrom anniversary sale and I immediately fell in love.  Then, I immediately wanted to cry.  They were all completely sold out.  I went on a mission to find some similar ones and the only other ones I could find that I liked were the ones I have been constantly wearing from Sole Society.  I do still very much love those as well!  I kept checking Nordstrom’s website and they came back available to order but they were on backorder.  I am totally an “instant gratification” type of woman but I loved these so much I decided I could wait.  Well, they FINALLY came today and I love them even more than I thought I could.  These shoes are going to take everything I wear with them to the next level.  There is so much detail, they’re the perfect heel height, they’re a great neutral-gray color, they’re comfortable, they’re made well, I could go on and on.  You can find them here.  Go, order now!!

This first look I would call a “date night” ensemble.  The top has some sex appeal but isn’t too sleazy.  The best part, it is only $12!  I am wearing a medium.  It is a little tight across my chest but that isn’t an unusual problem for me.  It also isn’t very long but I think it works.  The distressed gray jeans are from Express and they are so comfortable.  They’re mid rise and they have a great stretch.  My jeans are a size 6 short.  Express jeans are buy one get one 50% off right now.  I threw a cardigan over the outfit as you see in the picture on the right.  My cardigan is several years old and from Old Navy.  I don’t think it is available any longer but Nordstrom has a great similar option here.

IMG_3443

For colder weather you can pair the same gray jeans with a cozy sweater!  Oversized sweaters are going to be a big trend this season.  I snagged this one at American Eagle last year.  It is also no longer available but they have this option which I actually like better!

I would totally rock this look for a girl’s night out.  This outfit is a basic, fitted little black dress with the same cardigan mentioned earlier from Old Navy.  My little black dress is from Old Navy and it is also several years old.  (I am a clothes hoarder)  LBD’s are so easy to find though because they are a STAPLE!  Lulu’s has this option which I LOVE!!  I am pretty sure I need it too.  You can never have to many LBDs.

I have two more casual options here.  These are great for transitioning from the summer to fall.  If it is cooler outside you can pair a flannel with shorts and if it is still warmer out you can wear a tee with shorts.  My shorts are from Express and are sold out but American Eagle has a similar option here.  And they’re on sale!  My flannel is from American Eagle and it is the softest flannel ever!  Mine is a medium and it does gap in the chest.  (And that drives me crazy!)  You can throw on a dark colored cardigan if you have that problem too.  There are 13 color options in this flannel now.  You should get all 13 because flannel is going to be a go-to this season.  The tee is from Old Navy.  I am wearing a medium and it fits great but I do not dry it.  Old Navy tops tend to shrink in the dryer but otherwise they are great for the price!

ALWAYS BUY THE SHOES!

Cape Fear Seafood Co. The BEST Shrimp & Grits!

My side kick (Krysta) and I visited Cape Fear Seafood Company on a Saturday night before a 10PM movie.  I’d only heard of this restaurant through Krysta.  She had previously bragged about their shrimp and grits when we were in Charleston and honestly I really didn’t pay that much attention because WE WERE IN CHARLESTON, and they undoubtedly should have had the best shrimp and grits on the entire east coast.  But before I get carried away with how AMAZING this dish was, I’d like to give a little review on our over all experience of CFS Co.

The decor is what I’d describe as “beachy,” a very clean and cozy interior with an overall great vibe.  The staff is friendly and helps make it a very casual dinning experience.

We started with the Bloody Mary Oyster appetizer.  I am not a big oyster fan, especially of the larger oysters, but it was just “good.”  The oysters were fresh and lightly fried.  We did have a few “mud blisters” in our oysters making it a dish that Krysta (who seems to be like me when it comes to the slimy guys) and I would never order again. I did enjoy the Bloody Mary sauce, though!  It was a bit more special than a basic cocktail sauce.  For you oyster lovers (like my Dad) I say, go for it!!  FullSizeRender-2

Next, I ordered the Roasted Red Pepper & Crab Bisque soup.  OMG, y’all! It was delicious. It was very hearty and probably not the best decision to order BEFORE our choice main course of the S&G. I would suggest having this soup and pair it with a salad for a filling lunch!  FullSizeRender-3

Drum roll please… DUN DUN DUN DUN DA DA DUNNNNN!  Krysta and I decided to share the S&G. I’d heard her talk so much about this and it didn’t take much convincing for me to give it a shot. Not to mention that they are recognized by Our State Magazine as one of five restaurants in NC to try Shrimp & Grits!! The menu reads:

Cape Fear Shrimp & Grits:

Shrimp, applewood bacon, tomatoes, scallions & mushrooms in a low country cream sauce over cheese grits

  • Regular

$18.99

  • Small

$16.99

We decided to share the regular and Y’all IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!  This was one of the most pleasant and tastiest seafood meals I have enjoyed in a long time!  The sauce makes it!  It’s creamy, but with a very nice spice.  Made with (I believe) stone ground grits and loaded with shrimp… You get a generous portion for the price. The grits were cooked perfectly and you can taste the cheese.  The over all dish gives you a smoky flavor with the perfect amount of heat all made with FRESH ingredients. Go try this dish! FullSizeRender-5

The restaurant itself seems like a very family friendly type of place. I highly recommend. Everything was seasoned perfectly and all the food came out timely and hot. I think the prices are very fair for the quality.  The service was decent but nothing impressive. I would like to mention that our waiter was attentive without hovering or pressuring, and that is nice.

Transitioning To Fall!

I love the time of the year where we are changing over from summer to fall.  Those are my two favorite seasons so what’s not to love?!  I love summer because I live at the beach, duh, but I love fall because I LOVE the clothes!  That time of the year calls for layers and I believe that layers allow you to get really creative.  It isn’t quite cool enough for layers here yet; however, it is not too early to start introducing some fall trends.

IMG_3099

Today I wore a dusty rose/red trapeze tank, distressed gray skinny ankle jeans, peep toe booties, and of course, I accessorized it.  I am still wearing summer styles but I am easing into fall with the colors.  Dusty rose and gray are going to be cooler weather go-to’s.  My top is from Old Navy and is from last year.  They do have a similar one here.  It has a similar fit and color but the material is different.  It is close enough to work if you want to recreate this look.

IMG_3102

My jeans just came in yesterday and I can already tell you that they’re going to be making plenty of appearances.  The jeans are from Express and you can find them here.  (Express jeans are currently buy one get one $19.90, go ahead and get two!)  Mine are a size 6 short and have a really great, comfortable fit.  I can usually wear a 4 or 6 at Express.  Obviously 4’s are a bit tighter but I wanted a little more room in these.  I am 5’4″ so the “short” length is perfect for me.  Keep in mind that these are considered “ankle” jeans so they’re a little shorter than regular jeans already.  The shorts still worked great for me and I can still cuff them.  Express is at the very top of my list of favorite places to shop BUT they are not one of my favorite places to order online.  I’m an “instant gratification” type of girl.  Meaning when I order something I want it yesterday, thanks Amazon.  I ordered these jeans on August 10th and got them on August 21st AND I had to pay $8 in shipping charges.  That does not make me happy.  Call me spoiled, I already know it.  Will I stop shopping there, no.  Will I be hesitant to order online again, yes.  My shoes here are from Sole Society.  You can order them here.  I haven’t had these very long but I have already worn them about 100 times.  You need these.  Get them!  (They’re on clearance for under $65 in case you needed a little more convincing.)

The total look–so simple but has that autumn feel to it!

IMG_3103

This wrap bracelet is AH-MAZING.  I knew I would love it when I ordered it but I had no idea how much.  It is just so interesting.  It also doubles as a choker!  It is the Yves Wrap Bracelet by Stella & Dot and you can find it here.  I paired it with my Apple watch.  I also wore the Maylee Ring by Stella & Dot.  I have this ring in gold and silver.  I wear both often.  It adjusts to your finger and you can also to adjust it to wear on different fingers if you like to wear multiple rings.  The best part, its only $29!

Thanks for reading!  Comments, questions, & feedback are always welcome!

Bling Bling

Let me start by saying the pictures you are about to see are very amateur.  I mean VERY amateur.  It is 9:45 on a Thursday night and I have been wide open all day.  BUT I feel the need to share my new goodies with you all today so I did a mini photo shoot on my couch with my new jewels.  I cannot wait to style them but they say so much on their own as well.  I hosted a trunk show for my Stella & Dot guru, Dona Lanier, and she helped me blow it out of the water.  I earned nearly $500 in free jewels and all I had to pay was tax and shipping.  I mean, does it get much better?  No, no it doesn’t!  Stella & Dot has some of the most beautiful jewelry, BEST customer service, and super reasonable prices.  Let’s take a look at what I got!  (Don’t judge my ratchet fingernails!)

These are such a statement yet so dainty.  I want to get my second holes re pierced and put a stud in the first hole and these in the second hole.  How cute would that be?!  These are the Pave Triangle Path Ear Climbers in Gold.

Look at the SPARKLE y’all!  This is the Stellar Pave Ring in Gold.

These are the perfect hoops.  Not too big, not too small.  Not too round, not too oval.   They’re very light weight–it doesn’t feel like you’re wearing earrings.  These are great for an everyday earring.  I have a friend who has these in silver and she confessed she’s worn them for months straight without ever taking them out.  She says she doesn’t even know they’re there!  They are the Hammered Wire Small Hoops in gold.

Meet Celine!  This is the Celine Wrap Bracelet.  It reminds me of a slinky in that it is a “structured” wrap bracelet.  Both ends have the cutest tiny tassels.  This is such a versatile piece.  I think it would look great paired with silver if you want to do the mixed metal look.  Mixed metals are going to be a big deal this season!  This is also a great bracelet to have if you like to have “arm parties.”

When I first started browsing the fall line this called my name from day one.  I knew I was going to have this and it did not disappoint.  I love that it is so unique.  I also love that I discovered it can double as a choker!  Take a good look because you’re going to see this Yves Wrap Bracelet over and over!

On the left is the Lola Wrap Bracelet.  It is mostly ivory and silver.  I love the light colors and details in this one.  On the right is the Quinn Cuff in gold.  It can be spread apart to give the appearance of multiple bracelets or it can be worn tighter together.  I could easily see this as an every day bracelet.

IMG_3007

Try as I might I could not capture the beauty of this on camera.  This necklace in person is mesmerizing.  I also eyed this from day one as well and knew it would be mine!  There are several ways to wear it and I cannot wait to style it!  It is the Eliza Fringe Necklace and she is a BEAUTY!

IMG_3015

Last but definitely not least (maybe even my favorite) is the Interlock Cross Necklace in gold.  This necklace is so delicate and understated.  I couldn’t make my mind up on this when I was choosing my FREE jewelry and I am so glad I went with it.  It also means something to me that it represents my faith.  Love, love, love it!

If you are interested in purchasing any of these pieces you can click links and shop with my stylist, Dona Lanier.  If you need help I will be glad to put you in touch with her.  Comments, questions, and feedback are always welcome!

Versatility with Buffalo Plaid Flannel

Let me start by saying that I believe flannel is going to be HUGE this fall and winter.  There are so many ways you can wear and style flannel clothing.  And it doesn’t have to be just shirts.  There are plenty of options.  Today’s topic is the buffalo plaid flannel.  Its a classic!  You can mix and match it in so many ways.  Its a good, solid piece to have that offers unlimited creativity.  IMG_2905

My shirt is from Old Navy and it is a couple seasons old.  BUT they still have it and it is under $30.  Mine is a medium.  I wore this two ways in the past couple of days but the possibilities are endless.

This past Friday night I had plans with some friends and family to check out a Guns N Roses cover band in downtown Wilmington, NC.  I have heard this band before and I LOVED them.  I knew I had to go back!  I had envisioned what I wanted to wear.  I like to plan ahead and dress for the occasion, so to speak.  I feel like my personal style cannot be defined to a “type.”  I like to dress according to my mood which changes often, lets be honest!  I knew I had to pull out the flannel because Axl Rose, duh!  I just didn’t know what top I wanted to throw on with it so that constituted a trip to Target to find this top.  I have to be real with y’all.  All they had was a medium and that is typically my size. Well this medium was small–or that is my story anyway–so I used a trick to make it more comfortable for me.

IMG_2907

I sliced open some room in the back!  I knew this would allow me to feel more comfortable wearing it and I could add a cute bralette for a little twist in the back!  Mine is from Aerie by American Eagle and the one linked is the most similar to mine.  Bonus: its on SALE!  My bralette is a large.

I wore the same shorts from Express that you will see on repeat until the weather cools off.  Mine are no longer available but these are VERY similar.  I also wore grey Chuck Taylor Converse.

Fast forward to Monday.  It is time to go back to work but I am not quite over the weekend or that flannel shirt.  For the office I wore a striped cotton dress.  Mine is from Julie’s Boutique and is no longer available.  I did find a similar one here that I actually think I like better.  Shoes are Tory Burch which y’all already know are favorites of mine.  I wore the flannel just thrown over my dress but it could be tied at the waist too.

Versatility is the name of the game with it comes to fashion.  If you get pieces that can be worn and styled multiple ways your wardrobe can have so many possibilities without dishing out the dough!

The Ordinary Fancy Seafood Oyster Hall… Not SO ordinary.

Krysta and I recently made a trip to Charleston SC to experience Charleston’s beautiful historic town, nightlife, shopping, and of course the low country southern cuisine.

I did hear quite a bit about Mike Lata’s Fig Restaurant on upper King Street. Upon trying to reserve a seat at Fig, I quickly found it to be booked weeks in advance. I was so disappointed!  Fig sounded like my kind of place, a Farm to Table, serving elevated cuisine, with contemporary dishes. So, I did some research and found – The Ordinary Fancy Seafood Oyster Hall.  When I read “From the same team behind FIG, our approach is recognizable…” I was sold!! I can’t tell you how many times we were referred to try Fig.  Knowing the same team would be cooking at the Ordinary was enough for me!!

The restaurant, a former bank (the vault still intact), has kept the look and feel of the bank with large, 12 foot windows and incredibly high ceilings.  The upper level, provided excellent views of the entire restaurant, though we did not get a seat there – I’d suggest it next time.

True to its’ name if you don’t like seafood you’re out of luck at The Ordinary. It’s all seafood all the time.  Not a bad thing, but if you’re looking for an alternative, make reservations at a different joint OR go on “steak night.”

Needing a quick snack we ordered the Sea Salt Potato Chips.  At $5.00 it seemed a bargain, considering the pricing of many of the other items on the menu.  The chips come with sea salt and are very delicious.  Both Krysta and I wanted something to dip them in, and our wonderful server, who, by the way, was terrific, had Chef whip up some aioli sauce which was also delicious.  Again, I want to mention that our waitress was absolutely amazing and made our experience very pleasurable. FullSizeRender-4

The Broiled Oysters, an appetizer recommended by out server, was loaded with corn, chanterelle, and parmesan. Let me just say that I am not CRAZY about oysters but THESE WERE TO DIE FOR. We both enjoyed that dish quite a bit. It was an unbelievable combination of flavors. The food quality, not surprisingly, was outstanding.  FullSizeRender-1

Another appetizer suggested was The Jumbo Lump Blue Crab Toast served with lime and radishes was incredible. Served cold, it was very refreshing and the crab was terrific. Even the toast was special!

FullSizeRender

Lastly, we went for the Crispy Oyster Sliders, and Y’all. I can’t even.  This one really did blow me away and it seemed so simple…  The perfect spicy-sweet, crispy, tender combo: Fried oysters are tucked inside Hawaiian rolls (baked fresh) and topped with cabbage, pickled carrots, homemade Sriracha hot sauce, cilantro, and jalapeños. Seriously? I can’t even. My mouth is watering right now as I type this.  FullSizeRender-2

The presentation, quality and flavor are ON POINT.  I am not exaggerating here, when I tell you to try this place.  Although, I didn’t get that chance to try Fig while we were there,  The Ordinary made up for it.

Denim, Denim, Denim. 2 ways!

Happy Friday eve!  Halleluyer!  Thursday’s are probably one of my favorite days of the week because my weekend starts very soon after.  Half days for Friday’s make them bearable.  Okay, enough about me wishing my life away and living for the weekends.  Today for work I paired denim with denim.  This used to be a BIG fashion no-no in my mind.  Much like wearing black and brown together and I do that all the time now.  Never say what you won’t do!  I paired a denim chambray shirt with a pair of dark wash skinny jeans.  I also showcased the same chambray shirt with a pair of destroyed denim shorts on my Facebook and Instagram this morning because I like options.  I actually preferred it with shorts but destroyed denim booty shorts aren’t necessarily office appropriate so I opted for the pants.  In my opinion, the key to mixing and pairing denims is having a high contrast in the color/wash.  If your chambray shirt is a dark denim then I suggest pairing that with a lighter wash on the bottom or vice versa.  This is just my tidbit of advice but if you want to rock matchy-matchy denims, do your thing girl!  (Or guy)

This is the most similar Chambray shirt on American Eagle’s website currently.  Mine is a couple years old but this one seems like it is pretty much the same one.  The shirt is so soft and comfortable and has held up in the washing machine and dryer for several years.  I am wearing a medium.  Oh, and its on SALE!

These are the exact jeans I am wearing.  I LOVE Express jeans.  They are reasonably priced regularly but you can almost always find a deal on their jeans if you are patient.  They will go on sale.  Matter of fact, these are on SALE now.  Regularly $79.90 and on sale for $39.90.  This makes me feel like I need a second pair just because they’re half off!  I am wearing a size 4, regular length in these but that is why they’re cuffed.  I am a solid 5’3 (and a half) so the short length usually works better for me.

I am wearing the exact same shirt linked above but with these shorts instead.  These are probably my FAVORITE denim shorts of all time.  They are so comfortable and fit perfectly.  They are the perfect length for me and I love the distressing.  I cannot say enough good things about these shorts!  Oh wait, one more thing, they’re ON SALE TOO!  30% off–regularly $54.90 and now $27.45.  I am wearing a size 4 in these as well.  (I just realized they only have a size 0 left.  Nooooooooo!  Similar ones here which also have limited sizes left so shop fast!)

These first two pictures are the options I just detailed.  I also included an option with jeans that aren’t distressed just in case that is not your thing.  You can get these at American Eagle.  These jeans are also really comfortable.  They have great stretch but hold their shape.

I styled my get up with these Tory Burch “Miller” sandals.  You will see these sandals on repeat.  They are the most comfortable sandals I own–which is why I have 3 pairs.  I have found that the patent leather options hold up longer in these shoes.  I have the black patent, brown leather, and spark gold leather.  I like the look of the soft leather better but if you are going to wear them as often as I do you may want to opt for the patent.  They’re kind of pricey to be replacing often!  I am wearing a 7 in these as they run about a half size small.  These are just so good.  If you get them I promise you won’t regret it!

These exact earrings are no longer carried by Stella & Dot but these are very similar.  This is the Signature Engravable Disc Necklace by Stella & Dot.  I have had this necklace for a couple years and I go to it so often.  It is a simple piece with my monogram on it but I just love it!

That is all for today guys!  Hope you enjoyed reading!  Questions, feedback, & comments are always welcome!

“Fancying” up a tee! (Or dressing it down)

One of my FAVORITE clothing items is a plain ol’ tee shirt.  I don’t mean an old concert tee shirt or a graphic tee, although I love those too.  Actually, let’s face it, if it is clothing I probably love it!  I mean a classic, solid tee.  You can do so many different things with it.  You can dress it up or down and I will expand on that today.  You can create endless possibilities with a solid (or striped) tee.  Add accessories, cardigans, bomber jackets, belts, crossbody bags, etc.  I could wear the same one several times a week and you may never know it because I will make it a different look every time.  Today I wore a plain white-ish (also a little gray-ish) tee shirt to work and I dressed it up enough to  make it office appropriate.  Then I came home and made it lounge wear with leggings!  I’m all about coming home and getting cozy and if I can skip a step by keeping the same shirt on then sign me up!  (Don’t judge, I worked 9 hours today and I’ll be lazy if I want to.)

IMG_2777IMG_2780IMG_2781

My shirt is the Luxe Curved Hem Scoop Neck Tee at Old Navy.  It is SO SO soft and the perfect amount of “flowy” without looking baggy.  I am wearing a medium so they are true to size.  They call the color cream although it looks a white with a little gray to me.

My jeans are True Religion Misty Super Skinny (hah!) Jeans.  They are an older style so I have linked similar ones here.  I am wearing a 26 in these and as good as that makes me feel, let’s be real.  I’m usually a 27/28 in jeans with European sizes so you may want to size down in these if you get them.  Although these are on sale they are still over $100 so if you like the look but want a less expensive option then check out these at Express.  I have these too and love them just as much!

fullsizeoutput_1567

You can find my shoes here.  They were featured on the blog yesterday and will definitely be a repeat!  If you want to read all about how great they are check out yesterday’s blog “Pattern Mixing” for more details.

The jewels I am wearing today are retired pieces from Stella & Dot.  The Lynx Pearl necklace and the Deja Vu Pearl studs.  Now even though these pieces aren’t available any longer you can still get something very similar on their website.  They still have plenty of options for the studs that you can wear two ways.  Click the link above and check them out!

IMG_2789

The  Artisan Marquis Cuff bracelet is also Stella & Dot.  It is no longer available in silver but you can still get it in gold and ON SALE!  I am also wearing the Kate Spade Gramercy Grand watch in silver.  I love the simplicity of it and it is very light weight.

When I got home I ditched the jeans and went for the leggings.  These particular ones are LuLaRoe leggings and they are BUTTER SOFT!  They have a wide waist band for that instant tummy tuck and are not see through.  I have two pair in black because I can’t chance one pair being in the laundry when I need them!  I also have several pair of printed leggings by LuLaRoe as well.  I have two LuLaRoe consultants if you are interested in purchasing!  You can contact Amy or Heather.

IMG_2807

You could throw on some sneakers and even wear this combo to the gym, to exercise, to take a walk.  Let’s face it, I am not going to–but you can!   I am wearing a 7 in these and am normally a 6.5 so I would say go up a half size in these.

Another option is to slide on some sandals and wear this running errands, shopping, grabbing some lunch, whatever your heart desires!  It is comfortable, not constricting, doesn’t look sloppy, but yet still stylish!

I could create a million more looks with this tee shirt and most likely will so keep an eye out, you’ll see it again!

Feedback is appreciated, comments & questions always welcome!

Pattern Mixing

So, my office is a pretty casual atmosphere but with that being said I still need to look put together.  As my office may be more casual than some I hope you can still get some good ideas for outfits whether they be for your work day or otherwise.  I really love mixing patterns and putting pieces together that you wouldn’t normally imagine would go together.  My biggest piece of advice is that you stay in the same or similar color family, scheme, shade, or pallet when mixing patterns.  If you venture too far out when mixing you may just look like you don’t match and although I like not matching, I think you still need to look like you meant to put it together and not that you forgot to do laundry.  Nearly all of the pieces I wore today are on sale so you can get this entire look for a really reasonable price and that makes me really excited!  Let’s jump in!

IMG_2762

IMG_2761

IMG_2755

The top I am wearing is from Old Navy and is currently on sale!  I am wearing a medium and find it fits true to size but it is a fitted top.

The shorts are from Express and are also on sale!  I am wearing a 6.  I typically wear a 4 in Express; however, they only had a 6 when I was shopping and I HAD to have them so I went with it and I actually prefer the “looser” fit as I am not sure anyone would look good in tight camouflage shorts.

IMG_2760

fullsizeoutput_1567

My shoes!  Oh, be still my heart.  There is a special place in my heart for shoes–literally such a weakness for me.  These are Soul Society but I cannot locate them on their website; however, they are still available for purchase through QVC and ON SALE!  Doesn’t get much better.  I am wearing a 6.5 which is my typical size so I’d say they are true to size.  If you are on the fence about one size or half size up I would recommend going half size up because these fit perfect but I feel I could wear the 7 as well.  They also have them in black and I am trying to talk myself out of “needing” those too.  I wore these shoes all day at work (9 hour work day) and my feet do not ache at all.  The chunky heel helps with the comfort factor.  These are also ideal shoes to transition from summer to autumn.  They look great with jeans, dresses, shorts, & skirts.  A good pair of peep toe booties are going to be a staple this season–get them before they’re gone.

fullsizeoutput_1566

My watch is Michael Kors and is several seasons old.  I have linked a similar one.  My bracelet is Stella & Dot.  It is so meaningful to me.  The bible verse reads “I thank my God every time I remember you” Philippians 1:3 and I purchased it in memory of my mama.  It makes my heart happy.

IMG_2768

My earrings are the Stella & Dot sparkle studs in gold.  They are a MUST HAVE for me.  I wear them at least 3-4 times a week.  They add a little sparkle but aren’t too “blingy”.  They don’t irritate my ears and I am usually pretty sensitive to earrings.  Best part, they’re $19!! Stella & Dot has such a great selection of studs–any of them would be excellent additions to your accessory wardrobe.

IMG_2769

My toenail polish is OPI’s “Suzi Shops & Island Hops”.  A chalky pink is my GO-TO nail polish.  Pink is one of my favorite colors and I love the way it looks on tan toes.  P.S. Who knew you could get OPI polish at Wal-Mart?

IMG_2756

I added this option for those of you who like the look but may not be fond of the pattern mixing.  I paired the same shirt with a pair of Volcom classic chino style shorts.  These shorts also come in another (longer) length.  I have short legs so I tend to go for shorter shorts but the outfit would be stylish with either choice!

Feel free to comment, suggest, or ask any questions!

Casual but feminine

All ready for a night out to celebrate Melissa’s birthday!  We decided to venture down to the bars at Wrightsville Beach and it is typically a pretty casual atmosphere, I mean it is the beach, but I still want to look put together and feminine.  I paired boyfriend jeans with a feminine, strappy top and stilettos.  I added the fabulous Taj clutch by Stella & Dot and some dainty, simple jewelry to complete my look.  What I love about this is that it is casual and effortless yet so put together and fashionable.  I was comfortable (mostly, the shoes,  not so much but beauty is pain right?) and felt confident.

IMG_2716

Get the look:

My jeans are Rag and Bone – Rosslyn fit  (And are currently sold out)

H & M has a similar pair at a great price point!

My top is from Express and is a couple years old (I keep staple pieces around for years) but you can find a similar option here and here.

My shoes are also from Express and are several months old.  They still have this pair but the heels are a little shorter than the ones I was wearing.  Nordstrom has this pair more similar to my heel height & they’re on sale!

IMG_2733  IMG_2737 IMG_2735 IMG_2740

My clutch is the Taj Clutch by Stella & Dot.

Cady Wrap Bracelet,  Celestial earrings (similar), & bangle bracelet (ON SALE!) are all also Stella & Dot.  I currently have a trunk show open for orders so make sure you have Krysta Knowles as your hostess when shopping!

I am also wearing an Apple Watch available at various retailers.

Feel free to submit any questions or comments!
